Museums

Dublin has a lot of great museums, and many of them are free. We visited several, with a focus on archaeology, art, and history:

Chester Beatty Library

Dublin City Gallery – the Hugh Lane

Literature of Ireland

Museum of Modern Art

National Gallery

National Museum – Archeology

National Museum – Decorative Arts and History

A note on EPIC-The Irish Emigrant Museum

We visited this venue, which is not really a museum, but instead it is a set of interactive media exhibitions telling the story of Irish emigrants throughout the ages. The exhibits provide interesting information, but without any significant artifacts, it seems like it shouldn’t be presented as a museum. The admission was higher than most museums.
